IHEST was founded under France’s National Pact for Research, which was launched in October 2005 and officially made law on April 18, 2006.
It aims to revamp the organization of scientific research in France and to give new impetus to the field at dawn of the 21st Century.
Every year, IHEST brings senior decision-makers from all economic sectors together during a national study course, aimed at deepening their knowledge of the issues raised by new developments in science, research and innovation, as well as the relationship between science and society.
